You ARE special…just like everyone else
I saw George Carlin this weekend and he was hilarious as usual. He said a lot of things I agree with including things about everyone wanting to be “special”. If everyone is special, doesn’t that make being special lose its power? Aren’t most people similar? I mean if you’re a one-in-a-million type of person that means there is currently 6600 people just like you. And 301 of them live here in America.
Respect and being “special” is not a birthright, it is something earned. What have you done to earn respect? What have you done to be special? Being born doesn’t make you special. Too many people do it every day. Working, living, being is not enough to be special. I hope you strive to be special but don’t fall into the pitfall of feeling special. Vanity is not a good look for most people. Self-esteem is great in the right dose. Negative thinking, like positive thinking, needs a balance.

And about those people just like you… more often than not, if you ever get a chance to meet one of these people just like you…you won’t like them. Probably because they think they’re special…and they’re not.
